On to positions...
Always do as the Free Person commands. If the command goes against your restrictions, SAY SO! Do not lead a Free Person on; teasing is dishonorable and punishable.
Always keep position until told to break it. One way a Free Person can release you from position is by clapping His/Her hands twice.
' If she breaks such a position, of course, she is subject to terrible discipline. ' {Kajira of Gor} ' It was late afternoon. He lay down, to sleep. I did not break position. I had not been given permission. Perhaps he kept me in position to discipline me. I did not know. I was afraid to break position. I told myself, of course, that this was rational, that he might wake and discover me out of position, or that, perhaps, at times, he was not truly asleep, but was, through half-closed eyes, watching me, to see if I, in the slightest, moved. But in my heart I knew I had not broken position because he had not given me permission to do so, because he had not released me from his command. I was terribly afraid of him. I was afraid to break position. I was obeying him. For more than two hours, I think, I knelt in position. He awakened. He looked at me, but he did not release me from position. I remained as I was, in that position so symbolic of female subjugation. {Slave Girl of Gor, Chapter 2}
One of the hardest things to do on-line is emote.. the positions MUST be SEEN! If you are trembling RL, show it on-line, describe miniscule details: clenched belly, trembling lower lip, watery gaze, a tender smile, whatever it may be. The trick is to make the Free Person FEEL your action.
Another suggestion for on-line is making sure your spoken text is seperated somehow from your action text. This makes for less possibility of missing the words.
Always remember to be descriptive! Take your time. Sometimes a 2-line post on-line has more impact than a 5-line post, especially when there is a chance the longer post may end up 'cutting off' the line. Be precise, if your typing is slow, make shorter posts and be sure to be grammatically correct. One may type fast too, but if the words are spelled incorrectly and such, it reflects upon you as being rushed and not taking the time to be more 'pleasing.' Insolence is not becoming in a slave. For sure a Master will like a trained, competant slave, but also be aware, while in the books a slave may be haughty in her bearing and sure of her abilities, she is still subject to the whims of Free Men. There is a fine line between being seen as proud of one's abilities and being seen as being snobbish in her words. The learning never stops; in fact, this site is always in constant update as one learns.
Practice in real life, not just on-line. A suggestion is to do the positions R/L in front of a mirror to get a better feel of them.
Choose what feels right for you, but do be aware of different customs. There are, of course, variations of all positions, as found in the books. It is hard to be exactly by the book as each book is a bit more brief in detailing the position or has a little more description than another book does on a position. What one finds is the best to do, find the norms of the position as found on irc, see that it doesn't go against the books and use the position in that form (or as one's Owner wishes it done) but always be aware of different variations.
As always, never raise eyes to a Free Person, unless told otherwise. Though this is only an IRC'ism of Gor, it displays the proper respect due the Free Person. In the books, the keeping of eyes lowered is normally intended as punishment and to remind a girl of her place and status.
' Normally, eye contact between a Master and a slave is acceptable and common, but it can be denied or forbidden to the slave as a punishment or discipline. ' {Savages of Gor, page 258}
Remember your restrictions when doing positions. It is good to learn all positions, even if one does not officially perform them. If one is commanded to do something that would signify she is something she is not (ie. pleasure slave or unrestricted), it may be best to tell the Master commanding the action of one's restrictions, but that one wishes to please and will do as commanded.
Crawling is a sign of 'need.' Slaves do not crawl unless ordered to do thus by their personal Masters or Mistresses or are intent upon showing their devotion or need to the Master they crawl before. Do not crawl about; a gorean kajira is supposed to be proud, believe it or not. The kajira should be proud of her skill and talent, her capactiy for love and devotion. Not of herself, but rather of the things she can bring to her Master, for her Master is her focus. Use discretion in doing positions. Many of these positions are not performed unless directed to by one's Master. As always, use discretion in doing a position without command, for a slave girl should, in her training, learn to assess her Master's wants/needs/desires before He even speaks them.
Kneeling is a great indicator of status and space according to distance. The kneeling position, itself, expresses the servitude of the slave, and her submission. The distance serves three major purposes. It symbolizes in the distance, as well as in the differential in height, the social inferiority of the slave to the master. It puts the slave in a position where all of her, for the master's delight, can be seen. A kneeling woman is incredibly beautiful. It also puts enough space between the slave and the free male so that the releasing of his rapacity is then likely to require a decision, and is less likely to be simply, reflexively. 'triggered'. This is regarded as being particularly important when the slave is in the presence of a male who is not her master. The kneeling position, thus, interestingly, can occasionally provide a measure of security, if a somewhat tenuous one for the slave, tending to reduce to some extent the frequency with which, in a culture with such interpersonal proximities, she might otherwise be subjected to unauthorized rape. This same tiny measure of protection, of course, puts her in much greater danger from her real master, for he, observing her, seeing her kneeling beautifully before him, can also delay in his considerations as to her suitable exploitations. How shall he use her'? What shall he have her do, and so on. To be sure, sometimes he simply takes her and when he wants her, and almost by reflexive whim. She is his. The main reason why a slave kneels, of course, aside from such subtle and complex considerations, is simply that she is a slave, and that that position, accordingly, is appropriate for her. 1. Kneeling a few paces back from the Free Person symbolizes in both distance and height differential the status between the Master and the slave.
2. Kneeling a few paces back from the Master puts the slave where the Master can view her fully, for a kneeling woman is an incredibly beautiful woman.
3. Kneeling a few paces back puts enough space between the Master and the slave so that the Master may not be imposed upon by a slave.
4. Kneeling a few paces back leaves ample room for one to maneuver into any commanded positions.
Be aware of what you offer (teasing, heat, and nadu). If a kajira offers a Free Person wholly of herself, she will be required to give what is offered if the Free Person chooses to accept it. A kajira cannot tease without intention of fulfilling the promise of the tease. To do so is not only an insult to the Free Person, but shows dishonor and a lack of intergrity within the kajira. "If a kajir teases, the kajir will please, exceptions made for dancers." {Players of Gor, page 26}
By kneeling nadu, a girl is telling the Master that her full sexual service is at His disposal. If you kneel in nadu, you are offering sexual service among other things to the Master, and you had better be able to fulfill that promise. Hiding behind restrictions or a collar is absolutely no excuse for you to tease or present yourself incorrectly when kneeling.
The placement of the hands may be an indicator of the slave's status-restricted or no, etc.. palms upwards or facing outwards

This position is to keep the slave quiet and unnoticed while her Master is busy fighting, traveling, or in a meeting with Another~~

Sula~~slave lays flat on the floor on her back, her feet spread shoulder width apart. She places her palms up at her sides. Her eyes remain lowered in submission and she silently awaits her Master's pleasure~~

Sula-ki~~is also known as the alternate sula. A slave lays flat on the floor, face upward, her hands at her sides, palms open and up. Her legs are spread wide in preparation for her Master's pleasure and she slowly lifts her hips off the floor~~

Table~~slave has many uses to her Master, one of which is to present herself as a table, to support His feet or drink. She goes to all fours making sure her back is level, her head held straight, her eyes lowered in submission. The girl should ensure she is stable, so as not to risk spilling the drink, or disturbing her Master, and should remain totally motionless. Stability can be increased if a girl ensures her thighs are parted widely and her elbows locked~~
